Safeguarding & Security
Safeguarding
- We follow all statutory safeguarding guidance in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- All staff receive regular safeguarding training and understand their duty to protect children from harm.
- Ellie is our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and oversees all safeguarding matters within the nursery. Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are in place to ensure cover at all times.
- All safeguarding concerns are recorded and reported in line with local authority procedures.
- We work in partnership with parents and external agencies where appropriate to support children’s safety and wellbeing.
- Safer recruitment procedures are followed, including enhanced DBS checks for all staff.
Security Measures
- CCTV operates in all nursery rooms and outdoor areas for safeguarding and security purposes.
- Secure access control systems are installed throughout the building. Only authorised staff with registered fingerprint access can enter internal areas.
- All visitors must report to reception and sign in on arrival.
- Identification may be requested before children are released to authorised adults.
- A clear lockdown procedure is in place to prevent further access beyond reception in the event of an unauthorised entry.
- Regular risk assessments are carried out to maintain a safe and secure environment.
