Inset Days

At Little Woodlands Children’s Day Nursery, we are committed to continually improving the quality of care and education we provide.

Each year, we allocate three Inset Days. On these days, the nursery is closed to children; however, all staff are still required to work.

These dedicated days allow us to focus on essential training and development that cannot be effectively completed whilst caring for children.

This includes:

As we operate all year round, inset days also allow contractors to carry out maintenance, safety checks and improvements safely and efficiently, something that is extremely difficult to do whilst the nursery is open.

We charge fees over 51 weeks of the year, meaning families are not charged for the one week closure between Christmas and New Year. Instead, we operate throughout the year and utilise inset days for staff training and development. Inset days are included within our annual fee structure and are non-refundable or swappable, as detailed within our Parent Contract. Dates are shared with families in advance to allow for alternative childcare arrangements. For consistency, one inset day will fall on a Tuesday, one on a Wednesday and one on a Thursday each year, and they will take place during North West Leicestershire school holidays where possible.

These days are an important investment in our team, our environment and ultimately in the experience
we provide for your children.
