Settling-In Process
Starting nursery is a big milestone for both children and parents, and we are committed to making the transition as smooth, positive and reassuring as possible.
We offer two free taster sessions from 9:15am–11:15am before your child officially starts with us. These sessions allow your child to explore their new environment, begin building relationships with staff and become familiar with routines in a relaxed and supportive way. They are also a wonderful opportunity for parents to feel confident and reassured as their child begins their nursery journey.
Before your first session, we will email you an “All About Me” booklet to complete and bring along. This helps us learn about your child’s interests, routines, comforters, favourite activities and any specific needs. By understanding your child from the very beginning, we can tailor their settling-in experience to suit them as an individual.
We know every child is different, so our approach is flexible and guided by your child’s needs. During the settling-in period and beyond, you are always welcome to call the nursery at any time for reassurance or an update. We understand how emotional those early days can be and we are here to support you just as much as your child.
Our priority is to ensure every child feels safe, secure and happy as they begin their journey at Little Woodlands.
