Key Person System

At Little Woodlands, every child is allocated a dedicated Key Person when they join our nursery. Your child’s Key Person plays a special role in supporting their development, building a secure attachment and acting as your main point of contact. You will always be informed if there are any changes to your child’s Key Person.

While we value the importance of the Key Person approach, we also place strong emphasis on a team-wide understanding of every child. All of our staff take the time to build meaningful relationships with the children across the nursery. This ensures consistency of care and support at all times, particularly if a staff member is absent.

Because of this collaborative approach, any member of the team will be able to provide detailed handovers, discuss your child’s day and confidently share information about their progress and wellbeing.

We believe this balance of secure attachments and strong teamwork provides children with stability, familiarity and a true sense of belonging.
