At Little Woodlands, we believe that strong partnerships with parents are at the heart of every child’s success. You are your child’s first and most important teacher and we value the knowledge, insight and understanding you bring.
We are committed to building open, honest and respectful relationships with every family. We welcome conversations, questions and feedback, and our door is always open.
We see parent partnership as a true collaboration. By working together, sharing information and supporting one another, we create consistency between home and nursery, helping children feel secure, confident and understood.
Within our nursery, we have created a dedicated Team Hub, which is a truly special space for our staff. This welcoming area is also used to host parent coffee mornings, baby weigh-ins, workshops with local health visitors and parent meetings. Whether you would like to chat, offload, discuss your child’s development or simply catch up, you are always welcome. We want you to feel supported, heard and never alone on your parenting journey.
We love bringing our nursery community together through special parent events throughout the year, including Mother’s Day tea parties, Father’s Day happy hours and Grandparents’ tea parties. We also host open days, stay and play sessions and other seasonal events, giving families the opportunity to spend time in nursery and share in their child’s experiences.
In our reception area, you will find a Parent Breakfast Station, offering drinks and snacks for you to grab on the go. We understand how busy mornings can be and we believe it’s important for parents to take a moment for themselves too.
We always welcome phone calls and encourage open, honest communication. If there is ever anything on your mind, we want you to feel comfortable speaking to us.
Each month, we send out home learning ideas within our newsletter, along with our Storybook of the Month, so you can continue learning at home and gain an insight into what your child is exploring in nursery.
We value feedback and have a feedback system in our reception area, where you are invited to share your thoughts – positive or constructive. If you would like to recognise a particular staff member or room, it truly lifts our team’s spirits. If you feel comfortable leaving your name, especially when offering constructive feedback, it allows us to work closely with you to improve and discuss things further.
We use the Famly app as our main communication platform. All meals, sleeps, nappy changes and daily care routines are logged there, alongside daily stories with photographs, observations of your child’s development and important updates. It is essential that you register when you receive your activation email to ensure you stay fully connected to your child’s nursery experience.
